I'm trying to adopt Aussie traditions and phrases so it's Happy Christmas, not Merry Christmas. I'm also trying to find some holiday spirit, but it's kind of hard when the weather is so beautiful and the streets and stores are not dripping with holiday tat. Don't get me wrong, I love Christmas time. Mulled wine, roaring fires, snowy nights, Christmas cookies :o) I just haven't got used to celebrating the holidays in a warm weather climate and I keep forgetting that tomorrow is the big day! I'm sure next year when we have a 1.5 years old running around I will find my holiday cheer, but for now, look what I'm dealing with.
Sunny skies and 85 degrees at the beach in St. Kilda.
Santa and his reindeer flying by a palm tree.
My morning coffee at the table in our beautiful backyard. Now that I think of it, I could get used to this.
One of the Aussie traditions that we decided to adopt is leaving a glass of beer for Santa and a carrot for his reindeer. I really think Santa will appreciate this offering much more than a warm glass of milk and a plate of cookies.
Happy (Merry) Christmas!
